INSTALLATION

Boiler-level electrical component, should be installed by a technician comfortable working around a pressurized hot water system.

PRO TIPS

• Use thermal paste, not glue, on the sensing head before bolting or clamping the thermostat down, it fills microscopic surface imperfections between the switch and the boiler surface so heat transfers accurately, which matters because a poorly-seated sensor reads boiler temperature wrong and can cause nuisance trips or a boiler that runs hotter than it should. This synthetic paste is chosen for long-term stability, it won't harden, dry out, or melt with normal use, and it's especially useful on pipe-mount applications.
