Enjoy smooth, sophisticated flavor from Portugal in 2021 Florbela Red Blend Dão D.O.C., a dry red blend with an award-winning pedigree. Tempranillo (known as Tinta Roriz in Portuguese) joins two native varieties to create this easy-going blend. Medium to full-bodied, this wine is intense ruby red in the glass. Aromas of black fruits carry into the palate, with plump blackberry and black currant notes meeting refined spice hints. Nice acidity is balanced by supple tannins, leaving a satisfying finish. This wine is produced by the award-winning Lúcia Freitas, who now runs her grandfather’s small family estate. Grapes are grown in Dão in Northern Portugal, one of the country’s oldest established wine regions known for its elegant reds. Lúcia’s vines, first planted in 1985, meander down a hillside with a gorgeous view of Serra de Estrela, the largest mountain in continental Portugal. Each harvest is hand-picked at perfect ripeness. Serve 2021 Florbela Red Blend Dão D.O.C. with your heartiest meat dishes, from beef and chicken to lamb and venison. It will also complement vegetarian-friendly dishes with beans and lentils.
