Greco is an important white variety in Campania. Winemaking in this region dates back several thousand years when Greek colonists began planting vines. The region’s fertile volcanic soils are nurtured by an abundance of sunshine and coastal Mediterranean breezes, which imparts grapes with bright flavor. This white wine was crafted by Cantina di Solopaca, one of the oldest farmer’s cooperatives in Campania. For more than 50 years, this community of 600 passionate vine growers and winemakers have been cultivating grapes, especially unique local varieties, to create delicious wines. Due to its natural acidity, 2022 Cantina di Solopaca Greco D.O.P. pairs best with foods. It is a wonderful complement to fried calamari, appetizers, white meats, and seafood pasta dishes.
