There is a central rail joining both the pedestals, which offers strong support to balance the table. 

There is an ease in which this solid table opens and the butterfly leaf comes out to elongate the table. No need to worry about finding a storage place for an extension piece, as it sits within the table! Online there is an option of adding only one butterfly leaf, or up to four separate table leaves with two available table sizes.
