Learn all about Blue Angel | Specialty Hosta 1 Gal, one of the finest large blue Hostas around! Its heart-shaped blue-green leaves are slightly wavy and boast nice corrugation. 'Blue Angel' Hosta initially appears a stunning blue but gradually transforms to a blue-green or green shade by mid-summer. Plant this Hosta in an area with minimal direct sunlight to maintain its blue hue for as long as possible. This remarkable Hosta forms a large, striking mound of blue-green foliage that serves as an excellent specimen plant. It showcases clusters of white flowers in mid-summer and has a height of 32", width of 70", and was hybridized by Paul Aden in 1996. According to growers, these giant Hostas have superb slug resistance. Despite being a long-standing cultivar, Blue Angel remains highly sought after and exhibits traits of both Hosta sieboldiana and Hosta montana.
