The XO Lot 53 Perfection is a blend of Tesseron's most sublime stocks of Grande Champagne Cognac and is a blend of Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes aged two generations, approximately 50 years, in Limousin oak casks. It has a sumptuous topaz color with a bouquet of plums, figs and chocolate on the palate. The wonderful, heady aromatic tang, borne of long wood aging, is immediately compelling. This gives way to hints of wood, tobacco, dried fruits and tobacco – very rich and generous. On the palate, pepper and spices emerge initially before revealing dark chocolate and fresh herbs. Complex, it shows supreme finesse, supple opulence, very good length and a refreshing lift. An extremely appetizing cognac, opulent, rounded, yet vivacious. The ideal cognac for after dinner, with a cigar if you like.
