INSTALLATION

DIY, replace whenever you break a 1/4" fitting loose; copper washers deform once compressed and shouldn't be reused.

PRO TIPS

• Copper washers work by crushing slightly under torque to fill imperfections in the mating surfaces, once you've broken a fitting loose and removed the old washer, always install a fresh one rather than reusing it, since a washer that's already been crushed flat won't seal properly a second time.
