David Nicholson 1843 Bourbon (750Ml)

This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 100 proof (50% alcohol) and comes in a standard 750mL (0.75L) bottle. It is a “wheated” bourbon, which means wheat is used as the secondary grain instead of the more common rye, giving it a softer, sweeter profile.

The mash is made with approximately 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley, and it is aged in new charred American oak barrels for around 4–6 years, allowing rich flavors to develop fully. Crafted by Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky, and owned by Luxco, this bourbon carries a historic recipe dating back to 1843, when David Nicholson first began distilling. The recipe also has ties to the renowned Stitzel-Weller distillery, adding to its heritage and character. On the nose, it offers aromas of honey, butter, vanilla, and oak, while the palate is smooth and rich with notes of caramel, sweet corn, vanilla, and hints of wood and smoke.

The finish is long and warm, featuring spice and a touch of sweetness. This bourbon is perfect neat, on the rocks, or in classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan, and it has been recognized with awards including Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
