Don Felix Tequila Plata (750ml) is a premium, additive-free silver tequila crafted from 100% blue Weber agave in Arandas, Jalisco. It is produced by Destiladora de Los Altos (NOM 1412), a facility owned by the Bañuelos family.
Key Specifications
- Proof & ABV: 80 Proof / 40% ABV.
- Distillery Location: Los Altos (Highlands), Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico.
- Batch Size: Small batch production, ranging from 2,800 to 6,000 bottles per batch.
Production Process
Unlike standard blanco tequilas that are bottled immediately after distillation, Don Felix Plata undergoes a unique aging and filtering process:
- Cooking & Crushing: Agaves are cooked in high-pressure autoclaves and crushed using a roller mill.
- Fermentation: Open-air fermentation lasting 10 to 15 days.
- Aged for 1 Month: Matured for one month in virgin white oak barrels.
- Coconut Fiber Filtration: Filtered through coconut fibers to strip the barrel color while retaining a smooth texture.
Flavor Profile
- Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, sweet caramel, light citrus, and mild herbal tones.
- Palate: Crisp and clean texture highlighting vibrant spices, minerals, and fresh agave.
- Finish: Smooth, soft finish with subtle peppery and earthy notes
