Fettercairn 17 Year Old 1995 vintage Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Single cask refill hogshead #10024 bottled September 2013 by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Old Particular series. 339 bottles.
Fettercairn Distillery was founded in 1824 on the edge of Fettercairn village at the foot of the Grampian Mountains in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Fettercairn Distillery is a malt whisky distillery and operates a unique system whereby cold water tumbles down the exterior of its two spirit stills which contributes to the lighter floral character of Fettercairn malt whisky. Visitors are welcome at Fettercairn Distillery visitor centre which offers distillery tours.
Nose: Decidedly fructiferous, soft and mellow - attractively Malted with late spice.
Palate: As toffee mellow & sweet as anticipated – chew through it .... big & sherberty.
Finish: Still with that sherbet style – now warmingly spiced + an interestingly oaked tail.
