Kelim Senneh Rug

Senneh is the old name of the modern city of Sanandaj. The carpets produced in the city and by nomads or farmers from the surrounding region are known as Senneh rugs. These double-sided kilims are woven with the traditional slit-weave technique. They often feature small patterns with designs such as bouquets of roses, rows of tree or floral motifs, as well as traditional Mahi motifs. Large central fields are also common, often containing a rhombus in various colors.
