This is an N19 Straight Chair, originally designed by George Nakashima for Knoll in 1946. This particular example was produced in the United States circa 1947. This early straight chair for Knoll represents some of Nakashima's earliest work and is quite special due to the piece pre-dating most of his studio designs. The Knoll relationship also pre-dates pieces he did for Widdicomb.
The chair measures 17.75 inches deep, 22.5 inches wide, and 30 inches high with a seat height of 17 inches. This piece does show wear consistent with previous use, including some scuff marks and surface blemishes. Overall, the chair is in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
