Description
Old Forester 1897 Bourbon is a bottled in bond expression that offers a robust, well structured profile inspired by the standards set in the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. It opens with notes of caramel, vanilla, warm spice, and toasted oak, followed by hints of stone fruit and brown sugar richness. The finish is long and steady, carrying oak warmth and balanced sweetness supported by its one hundred proof structure.
Producer
Distilled and bottled by Brown Forman in Louisville, Kentucky, this release follows all bonded requirements, using whiskey from a single distilling season, one distillery, and aged a minimum of four years. The expression is part of the Whiskey Row Series, celebrating pivotal moments in Old Forester’s heritage. Each batch is blended to maintain depth, consistency, and the traditional character that defines the brand.
Cocktail Suggestion
This bourbon builds a strong Old Fashioned where its caramel and spice hold up cleanly to bitters and citrus. It also makes an excellent Whiskey Sour, offering enough proof and structure for a bright, balanced finish.
