A 2-degree float SPD-SL road cleat set, the Shimano SM-SH12 SPD-SL Cleat Set (blue) sits between the SH10 fixed-mode red and the SH11 6-degree yellow float in Shimano's SPD-SL hierarchy, providing 1 degree of rotation in each direction (2 degrees total) with the pivot at the front of the cleat. The 12-degree release angle gives clean unclip at the end of the ride. The blue SH12 is the right cleat for riders who need a small amount of float to relieve knee strain without the full 6 degrees of the yellow SH11, and for racers wanting close-to-fixed power transfer without locking the foot completely.
