Irvinware was trademarked by the Leonard Silver Company in April of 1968. They manufactured Stainless Steel and Chrome Plated Holloware, Bar Accessories (like cocktails strainers, bar spoons, ice tongs, double jiggers, etc.), Kitchen Utensils (butter dishes, lemon squeezers, salt & pepper sets, sugar and creamer sets, lots of trays, etc.). According to an FTC Report of Mergers and Acquisitions dated October 1973, Beatrice Food acquired Irvinware. This tray box is dated 1975 and shows Irvinware as a Division of Beatrice Food Co. As unusual as it seems for a food company to own a metals company, from the late 1950s until the early 1970s, Beatrice Food had already acquired companies like: Avis Car Rental, Playtex, Shedd's, Tropicana, John Sexton & Co, Good & Plenty, and many others. In 1973 they added Irvinware to the long lineup. But they didn't stop there, in June 1984, Beatrice acquired Esmark, which included brands like: Swift & Co. and Hunt-Wesson. On Aug 9, 1987 the TLC Group, a New York investment firm, agreed to buy the Beatrice International Food Co. for $985 million. We believe since1990 it's all owned by ConAgra.
