Ty Ku Sake has been overseen by the Yoshida Family for 124 years, spanning five generations, at the famed Umenoyado Brewery. In the heart of Nara, Japan, known as the “Birthplace of Sake” this brewery sits between the revered Katsuragi & Nijo Mountains. Not only is Umenoyado a 10 time winner of Zenkoku Shinshu Kanpyo Kai, the most prestigious sake competition in Japan, it is also the first female-owned brewery in Nara. Ty Ku Sake uses a soft, iron-free water source from deep springs from the mountain ranges it sits between. To activate the main sake mash, Umenoyado uses natural heat convection and active koji in a premium, cedar-lined Koji room.
