West Cork Distillers, established in 2003, has crafted this limited-release 12-year-old single malt Irish whiskey. Initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks for 12 years, it undergoes a finishing period of approximately 110 days in rum casks sourced from Consorcio Licorero Nacional. Bottled at 43% ABV and non-chill filtered, this expression offers a unique interplay of flavors.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Notes of malt, coconut, and marzipan
- Palate: Flavors of malt, floral tones, dried fruit, and a lingering vanilla sweetness
- Finish: Long with rum sweetness, earthy malt, and hints of vanilla and honey.
