In Roman times kissing was a legal bond that sealed all contracts and the kiss that takes place during marriage would be the first kiss between the bride and the groom.
This open edition release by low country Gullah artist Cassandra Gillens depicts an African American couple on wedding day during their first kiss. The bride is in a flowing white dress and holding a bouquet of flowers. They are preparing for a stage of life and ready to embark upon it together.
Special Note About Oversized Canvas Version: The oversized canvas prints are made on demand and not an item we carry in inventory. Oversized canvas prints take 10 to 15 business days to ship.
